Moderna Dansteatern has since 1986 been established as a leading Stockholm venue for contemporary and post-modern dance, performing arts, installations and genretransgressing scenic works of art.

Established as well as unestablished choreographers and artists are invited to inspire our audience with body, heart and soul.Several of Sweden’s leading contemporary choreographers have made their debut here and often in co-operation with visual artists,contemporary composers, and lighting designers - creative processes which have resulted in unforgettable works of an experimental character.

Moderna Dansteatern also houses guest performances every year, keeping Stockholm constantly in touch with contemporary dance from all over the world.

Moderna Dansteatern is a foundation that aims to be an open forum for dancers and choreographers, as well as supporting
modern dance by offering a great program of performances that gives the audience a possibility to experience the art of
contemporary dance. Moderna Dansteatern also encourages a Nordic and international collaboration.

From 2010 Moderna Dansteatern is back at Skeppsholmen. On the way you will experience a lovely walk to a beautiful island
with an interesting cultural history in the center of Stockholm.
